For this month's meetup, we'll have a virtual two-parter! For part one, we will dive into images and best practices for building images, including optimizing build caches and multi-stage builds. Afterwards, Matt Thomas will be teaching us about Rook, a CNCF project that provides cloud-native storage system for Kubernetes!
The Blacksburg Docker chapter is a friendly group of developers and engineers from various industries across the New River Valley. Our members span the experience spectrum from beginners (midshipmen?) to a Docker Captain. We strive to meet monthly to learn from each other and share tips, troubles, and triumphs with Docker, containers, and the cloud-native environment we all live in now.
Matthew Thomas is an Information Security Engineer at Radford University and a GitLab administrator. Formerly a Full Stack Developer for over 5 years. He is also a driving force behind the university’s adoption of DevOps practices and automation.
