About this event

September's Meetup hosted by Campus Madrid sponsored by Oracle

SCHEDULE

19:10 Sergio Moreno Roca: Democratizing Serverless, The Open Source FN Project (in Spanish)

Sergio will present the Open Source FN Project, a container native Apache 2.0 licensed serverless platform that you can run anywhere–any cloud or on-premise. The Fn Project is being developed by the same team that created IronFunctions. The team pioneered serverless technology and ran a hosted serverless platform for 6 years. Now at Oracle, the team has taken this knowledge and experience and applied it to Fn.

Sergio is currently Business Development Manager for Cloud Innovation at Oracle, responsible for new cloud-native technologies, including Container-Native Development, Intelligent Bots, IoT, Blockchain, APIs and more... With more that 20 years of experience in different positions, although his role is not purely technical anymore, he enjoys rolling his sleeves up and touch the cutting-edge open source technologies available at Oracle Cloud. He's also leading different initiatives as co-organizer of meetups, Blockchain Interest Group and other internal innovation projects at Oracle.

19:50 Javier Ramírez: Kubernetes Ingress Controllers, How can we publish applications to the real world (in Spanish)

In this talk we'll see what's an Ingress Controller, how to use it to expose our applications in common production environments, test multiple implementations from Nginx, Kong or Netscaler and how do they compare against Istio.

Javier Ramírez is a Senior Consultant and Docker Instructor at Hopla Software. Hola Software is a company based on open source, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Madrid. Its main mission is to provide software tools for medium and large companies, that allow them to grow better and faster through a more powerful and efficient data handling.

20:30 Networking, Pizzas and Drinks by Oracle

About Docker:

Docker is an open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications. Consisting of Docker Engine, a portable, lightweight runtime and packaging tool, and Docker Hub, a cloud service for sharing applications and automating workflows, Docker enables apps to be quickly assembled from components and eliminates the friction between development, QA, and production environments.
