Every year in March, we celebrate Docker’s birthday. It is a tradition that is near and dear to our heart because it gives us the opportunity to express our gratitude to our community of contributors, customers, partners and users. The goal of this global celebration is to welcome those new to Docker and bring them up to speed through hands-on labs with the help of more advanced users who act as mentors on-site. This year, celebrations all over the world will take place March 19-25, 2018. Come learn, mentor, celebrate, eat cake, and take an epic #dockerselfie!
Last year, with the help of our awesome community leaders and captains, over 9,000 people attended one of the 152 celebrations across 5 continents!
At local birthday #5 meetups, there will be Docker labs to help attendees at all levels learn docker and welcome new members into the community. While the courses and labs are geared towards newcomers and intermediate level users, advanced and expert community members are invited to join as mentors to help attendees work through the materials on-site.
Join your local chapter page to find out the details of your local celebration. We'll keep this page updated as meetups are announced.
While attendees are working through the labs, we have advanced users on site to answer any questions and troubleshoot as needed. Are you interested in helping out? Check out your local chapter's bday #5 event page, scroll to the bottom and click the "contact the host" button. Introduce yourself, and let them know you'd like to volunteer.
Celebrate with the rest of the world by using #dockerbday and showing us your #dockerselfie and cakes. Check out the Docker Bday #4 photo album and make sure to follow along on Instagram!
